Appleton Post 38 to host Class AAA Legion baseball regional

APPLETON – The postseason kicks off Wednesday afternoon as a Class AAA American Legion Baseball Regional begins at Don Hawkins Field at Appleton Legion Post 38.

Six teams will be vying for a spot in next week’s state tournament in Wisconsin Rapids as the double-elimination tournament runs through Saturday after first-round games originally scheduled for Tuesday were postponed.

The Appleton Double Days (12-2), winners of 11-straight games, will take on Kaukauna at 3 p.m., with Manitowoc and Neenah to follow at approximately 5:30 p.m., and Appleton Post 38 (8-11) hosting Sheboygan at approximately 8 p.m. to wrap up Day 1.

The tournament continues with three games on Thursday and Friday, and the championship round beginning at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday.

The regional champion qualifies for the 2024 Wisconsin American Legion Baseball Class AAA State Tournament in Wisconsin Rapids, which will be held July 30-Aug. 3.
