CAROL STREAM, Ill. – Carol Stream (Ill.) overcame an early two-run deficit to defeat Appleton Post 38 7-3 in the final game of the three-day Legion baseball tournament, hosted by Carol Stream Post 76.
Brandon Schopf hit a two-run homer and Logan Hudson had a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the first inning to give Appleton an early 3-1 lead.
That would be all Post 38 would get, however, as it was held to two hits the rest of the game.
Carol Stream had back-to-back three-run innings in the fourth and fifth to pull ahead.
Appleton finished the tournament with a 2-3 record and is now 3-4 this season.
Appleton Post 38 is back in action Thursday at Bay Port.
