Appleton North’s Stoffel, Arndt, West’s Miller win titles at 2024 Fox Valley Association Boys Wrestling Tournament

OSHKOSH – Kaukauna won four individual titles and went on to capture its 19^th-straight team championship at the 2024 Fox Valley Association Boys Wrestling Tournament on Saturday at Oshkosh North High School.

Kaukauna racked up 264 points, with Hortonville a distant second with 2175. Appleton North took fifth (133), Appleton West seventh (65) and Appleton East 10^th (10).

Appleton North’s Jake Stoffel captured his fourth-straight FVA title, winning the 175-pound championship match over Brady Sprangers of Kaukauna, 6-2.

Brock Arndt won his third consecutive FVA title for the Lightning as well, taking the 285-pound championship with a pin in 1:11 of Kaukauna’s Nehemiah Lendobeja.

Appleton West’s Ben Hilbert also earned an FVA title, defeating Nick Jenkins of Kaukauna 5-2 in the 113-pound final.

Blake Miller added a third-place finish for Appleton North at 215, and Collin Evers took fourth place at 144 for Appleton West.

Appleton East’s top finish came from Cain Braun, who placed sixth at 165 pounds.

In the FVA girls tournament, Appleton North’s Paige Sisongkham was the 100-pound champion as the only entrant in the field.

The Appleton West girls had four runner-up finishes – Addison Walt (107), Jarielys Torres (126), Annaleah Jacobson (132) and Stella Somers (138).

Emily Verhyen added a third-place finish at 152 for Appleton North.

The three Appleton teams will compete at a WIAA Division 1 regional next Saturday, Feb. 10, at Kaukauna.
