Appleton North’s Huenink grabs another meet win, Lightning boys golf team falls in dual to Oshkosh North

APPLETON – Appleton North sophomore Jon Huenink earned meet medalist honors with a 2-over par 37 on the front nine at Reid Golf Course on Tuesday, but the Lightning fell short in the team score, losing 164-170 to Oshkosh North.

Huenink birdies the first hole and posted three bogeys on the final four holes to finish with a 37, which was one stroke better than Oshkosh North’s Owen Weber. Dan Chopp of the Spartans placed third with a 39.

Drew Rudolf added a 43, Daniel Garrigan shot 44, Dax Macklin had 46 and Nolan Shea had a 47 to round out Appleton North’s scoring.

Appleton North will be back at Reid on Thursday when it hosts Kaukauna for another FVA dual starting at 2:30 p.m.
