Appleton North’s Esser, Appleton West’s Hilbert win titles at 2025 Fox Valley Association Wrestling Tournament

APPLETON – Kaukauna won six of the 14 weight classes and earned its 20^th-straight conference title at the 2025 Fox Valley Association Wrestling Tournament on Saturday at Appleton East High School.

Kaukauna finished with 292.5 points, 100 points in front of runner-up Hortonville. Appleton North finished sixth with 99.5 points, Appleton West was seventh with 68.5, and Appleton East ninth with 30.

Appleton North’s Jackson Esser earned the 126-pound title with a 12-4 major decision over Preston Schneider of Oshkosh West and was one of four Lightning wrestlers to have top-four finishes.

Cooper Krysiak took second at 120 pounds, Alijah Martin was third at 106 and Joban Singh fourth at 175 for Appleton North.

Appleton West had three top-four finishes with Ben Hilbert winning its lone FVA title. Hilbert won the 144-pound final with a 10-2 victory over Landen Sheppard of Neenah. Jevonte Johnson was second at 285 and Kevin Lor fourth at 106 for the Terrors.

Paul Martin had Appleton East’s lone top-four finish, taking third at 120 pounds.

In the girls tournament, Neenah won the team title with Kimberly second, Appleton West third and Appleton North eighth.

Appleton West’s Annaleah Jacobson (114 pounds) and Anastasia Wilondja (138), and Appleton North’s Mckinley Spalding (145) placed second.

Appleton North will compete at Wisconsin Rapids, while Appleton East and Appleton West will be at Kaukauna in WIAA Division 1 regionals next Saturday, Feb. 15. The top four finishers at the regional move on to a D-1 sectional at Menasha on Feb. 22.
