Appleton North wrestling wins one title, takes 12th at Battle on the Bay at Bay Port

SUAMICO – Appleton North had one individual champion and another finish runner-up as it placed 12th at the 32-team Battle on the Bay Wrestling Tournament on Saturday at Bay Port High School.
Jake Stoffel won the 175-pound title for the Lightning, defeating Johnny Botsch of Brookfield East by technical fall 16-1 in the championship match.
Brock Arndt was the runner-up at 285 pounds for Appleton North, falling in the championship match to Cole Mirasola of West Bend West by a 17-6 major decision.
Jackson Esser added a top-10 finish for North, taking seventh at 120 pounds.
Appleton North will wrestle at Kimberly in a Fox Valley Association dual on Thursday.
