Appleton North wrestling uses five pins to down Appleton West

APPLETON – Appleton North won five matches by pin and squeaked out a 42-36 victory over Appleton West in a Fox Valley Association wrestling dual Thursday at West High School.

Both teams are now 3-5 in FVA duals this season.

Cooper Krysiak (126 pounds), Joban Singh (190), Gavin Frega (215), Alijah Martin (106) and Jayden Rasmussen (120) each won by pin for Appleton North, which earned victories in eight of the 14 matches.

Appleton West’s Ben Hilbert continued his strong season with a pin at 138, Kassius Daniels added a pin at 150, Abdelrahman Zeineldin had a pin at 175, and Jevonte Johnson won by pin in just 51 seconds at 285 for the Terrors.

Appleton West will jump right back into action at the Burlington Invitational on Friday starting at 4 p.m. North’s next match is Thursday, Jan. 30, at home against Hortonville.
