Appleton North wrestling tops Appleton West in FVA dual

APPLETON – The Appleton North wrestling team won 11 of the 14 matches, seven by pin, and defeated Appleton West 56-15 in a Fox Valley Association dual meet on Thursday at North High School.

The Lightning won the first three matches by pin to set the tone and cruised to the victory, improve to 4-4 in the conference. West drops to 1-6.

Cameron Chudacoff (190 pounds), Max Ekins (215), Brock Arndt (285), Jackson Esser (120), Tomas Thao (126), Mason Kolasinski (132) and Jake Stoffel (175) all had pins for the Lightning.

West’s Ben Hilbert (113) and Charlie Blevins (144) had pins, and Lucas Collar also picked up a 7-3 victory for the Terrors at 138 pounds.

Both teams will compete at invitationals on Saturday as North heads to Muskego and West travels to Whitnall. Both teams also wrap up their FVA dual meet schedules on Thursday, Jan. 25, with Appleton West hosting Neenah and Appleton North traveling to Hortonville.
