Appleton North wrestling finishes 14th at Freedom Irish Invitational

FREEDOM – The Appleton North wrestling team had six top-eight finishes and finished 14^th among the 16 teams at the Freedom Irish Invitational on Saturday at Freedom High School.

Cooper Krysiak (120 pounds) and Pablo Salinas (165) each finished fifth to lead Appleton North, which ended up with 44.5 points. Auburndale won the team title with 173 points, with Evansville second with 170.5 and host Freedom third with 165.5.

Joban Singh placed seventh for the Lightning, pinning teammate Liam Kain in 4:35 in the seventh-place match at 190 pounds.

Braden Lewis (144) and Damarcus Parks (150) also finished eighth for Appleton North.

Appleton North will take on Kaukauna, Oshkosh West and Appleton East at a Fox Valley Association multi-dual meet at Kaukauna on Thursday.
