Appleton North wrestling drops tight match to Kimberly

KIMBERLY – Kimberly won the final two matches by pin to earn a 42-31 win over Appleton North in a Fox Valley Association wrestling dual Thursday night at Kimberly High School.

Braden Lewis gave Appleton North a 31-30 lead with a pin in just 47 seconds in the 144-pound match, before Alex Reichenberger (150) and Tyler Cruse (157) won by pin for the Papermakers to hand them the victory.

Jake Stoffel (190), Brock Arndt (285) and Tomas Thao (120) all won by pin for Appleton North.

Cameron Chudacoff added a 9-4 win at 215 and Nathan Yang won a 16-3 major decision at 106 as well for the Lightning (2-2 FVA).

Appleton North’s next match is a FVA dual at home next Thursday, Dec. 21, against Kaukauna.
