Appleton North wins three titles at FVA Track & Field Championships

FOND DU LAC – Appleton North won three events at the Fox Valley Association Track & Field Championships on Monday at Fond du Lac High School.

The Kimberly boys edged Kaukauna by one-half point (128-127.5) to take the team title, while Kaukauna won the girls team crown with 161 points.

The Appleton North girls placed fourth, while Appleton East and Appleton West tied for ninth. The Lightning were fifth in the boys standings, with Appleton East ninth and Appleton West 10th.

Mark Lynch placed first in the 300-meter hurdles in 41.37 seconds and Abraham Tomori won the triple jump with a leap of 41 feet, 8 inches, for the Appleton North boys.

Ashley Parrish won the girls 200 meters in 26.68 seconds, and also placed second in the long jump (16-8.5) for the Lightning.

The Appleton East boys had one runner-up finish as Adrian Scaife took second in the 110 hurdles in 15.40 seconds.

Appleton West also had one second-place finish, coming from Tyce Scheetz in the 800 (2:02.57).

All three Appleton teams will compete at a WIAA Division 1 regional at Appleton North next Monday, May 20.
