Appleton North softball wins one of three at Winneconne Invite

WINNECONNE – The Appleton North softball team finished 1-2 at the Winneconne Invitational on Saturday.

Appleton North lost to Freedom 14-3 and New London 8-1 before posting a 5-4 win over Winneconne.

Meg Carew singled home Maggie Hendrick with what proved to be the game-winner in the sixth inning of the victory over Winneconne.

Alyssa Wald hit a home run and her and Sophia Wald both drove in two runs for the Lightning (5-13).

Callie Weber hit a three-run homer to account for all of the Lightning’s runs in the loss to Freedom.

Raegen Schwartz had two hits for Appleton North in the loss to New London.

Appleton North hosts Oshkosh North in a Fox Valley Association contest Monday at 4:30 p.m.
