Appleton North softball routs Green Bay West/East for first win of 2024 season

GREEN BAY – The Appleton North softball team picked up its first victory of the season with a dominating 27-3 performance over Green Bay West/East on Friday at Colburn Park.

North scored seven times in both the first and second innings, then put the game away with a 13-run fourth, ending the game via the 15-run rule.

Lila Griffith went 5-for-6 with seven RBI and three runs scored to lead the offensive explosion for North (1-3).

Payton Willekmap added three hits, including two doubles, and Peyton Smith went 4-for-4 with four runs scored and three RBI in the win for the Lightning, who had 17 hits overall.

Appleton North will play at West De Pere on Monday.
