Appleton North softball hammers two homers, defeats Appleton West

APPLETON – Raegen Schwarz went 4-for-4 with a double, a home run and five RBI to lead the Appleton North softball team to a convincing 17-2 win over Appleton West in a Fox Valley Association game Friday at Appleton North High School.

Appleton North scored multiple runs in all four of its at-bats, including eight runs in the fourth, as it improves to 6-14 overall and 4-11 in the FVA.

Claire Therkildsen also homered, and Alyssa Wald had two hits and three RBI for the Lightning.

Sophia Wald picked up the pitching win, striking out four and walking three in five innings for North.

Morgan Baehman had a two-run single to account for both of Appleton West’s runs. The Terrors remain winless, falling to 0-17 overall and 0-15 in the FVA.

Both teams are back in action Monday as Appleton West will play a nonconference game at Ripon and Appleton North will host an FVA game against Oshkosh West.
