Appleton North girls volleyball sweeps Appleton East, runs FVA record to 8-0

APPLETON – The Appleton North girls volleyball team secured no worse than a tie for the Fox Valley Association championship with a 3-0 sweep of Appleton East on Thursday night at East High School.

The Lightning won 25-12, 25-8, 25-20, to improve to 8-0 in the FVA. East falls to 2-6.

Emerson Van Lannen had 23 assists and nine kills, Ella Demetrician had 12 kills, and Teegan Charapata added nine kills and six digs for Appleton North.

Maggie Hahnke had a team-high eight digs and for service aces, Chloe North added six digs and three aces, and Lainey Frisch also had three aces in the win for the Lightning.

Appleton North can wrap up an undefeated outright conference title with a win at home against Neenah next Thursday, Oct. 12.
