Appleton North girls volleyball knocks off Xavier

APPLETON – The Appleton North girls volleyball team overcame a first-set loss to top Xavier in a nonconference crosstown battle 3-1 on Tuesday night at North High School.
Xavier won the first set 25-19, before North swept the next three 25-20, 25-18, 25-11.
Appleton North is now 13-15 overall this season, while Xavier drops to 15-10.
Teegan Charapata had 18 kills and 12 digs, Lydia Koshuta had a team-high 30 assists and seven digs, and JJ Brozek added nine kills for Appleton North.
“Our girls played well tonight and served aggressive,” Appleton North coach Steve Scheuerell said. “It was a great win for us against a well-coached Xavier team.”
Kayden Lamon chipped in seven digs and six kills, and Chloe North had six aces and five digs for the Lightning.
