Appleton North girls volleyball comes from behind to defeat Fond du Lac

APPLETON – The Appleton North girls volleyball team won the final two sets to pull out a 3-2 victory over Fond du Lac in a Fox Valley Association match Thursday night at North High School.

The Lightning won 22-25, 25-18, 29-31, 25-9, 15-12.

Appleton North is now 4-2 in the FVA, while Fond du Lac falls to 3-3.

Chloe North had 31 digs and four service aces, Lydia Koshuta had 31 assists, and Teegan Charapata knocked down 21 kills while also contributing 19 digs for Appleton North.

Kayden Lamon chipped in 17 kills, Hannah Moua had 17 assists and three aces, and Gracie Hartjes had six kills and four blocks as well for the Lightning.

“Tonight was a marathon match against a super scrappy Fond du Lac team,” Appleton North coach Steve Scheuerell said. “Our girls did not back down from the challenge. They left everything out on the court and it showed. I love the direction our team is headed!”

Appleton North will play at Kaukauna on Tuesday.
