Appleton North girls swimming wins all 11 races to top Appleton East/Hortonville/Kaukauna

APPLETON – Appleton North won each of the 11 swimming races and defeated Appleton East/Hortonville/Kaukauna 133-46 in a Fox Valley Association girls swim meet Tuesday at North High School.

Elise Brazzale won the 50-yard freestyle (28.55 seconds) and 400 freestyle (4:54.48), Ana Flanagan was first in the 100 freestyle (1:03.23) and the 100 breaststroke (1:13.71), and Afton Scoresby won both the 200 freestyle (2:20.24) and the 100 butterfly (1:14.25) for the Lightning.

Scoresby, Flanagan and Brazzale were also part of the 200 freestyle (1:54.71) and the 400 freestyle (4:21.33) winning relay teams. Maddie Loken was part of the 200 team and Aeryn Weber was on the 400 team.

Weber, Loken, Ava Komp and Sophia Golub also posted a victory in the 200 medley relay in 2:14.75 for Appleton North.

Appleton East/Hortonville/Kaukauna’s lone victory came in the diving competition as Ava Strassburg finished with 222.9 points.

Both teams will be back in the pool next Tuesday, Sept. 24, as Appleton North travels to Appleton West and Appleton East/Hortonville/Kaukauna is home at East High School to take on Fond du Lac.
