Appleton North girls swimming sweeps 11 races, defeats Oshkosh North/Lourdes

APPLETON – The Appleton North girls swim team won all 11 races and defeated Oshkosh North/Lourdes 126-60 in a Fox Valley Association dual meet Tuesday at North High School.

The Lightning move to 3-0 to stay unbeaten in FVA duals this fall.

Elise Brazzale won the 200-yard individual medley (2:16.01) and the 100 freestyle (55.23) and Ana Flanagan was first in the 50 freestyle (25.72) and the 100 breaststroke (1:07.11) to lead the way for the Lightning.

Other individual winners for Appleton North were Aeryn Weber in the 200 freestyle (2:07.70), Margo Maddaloni in the 100 butterfly (1:05.90), Afton Scoresby in the 500 freestyle (5:38.58), and Maddie Loken in the 100 backstroke (1:04.75).

Appleton North also swept all three relays. Loken, Flanagan, Scoresby and Sophia Golub won the 200 medley relay in 1:55.47; Loken, Weber, Golub and Brazzale was first in the 200 freestyle relay in 1:46.48; and Weber, Brazzale, Chloe Keideth and Scoresby won the 400 freestyle relay in 4:04.90.

Appleton North will compete at the Fond du Lac Invitational, with diving held Friday at 6 p.m. and the swimming events starting at 10 a.m. on Saturday.
