Appleton North girls swimming & diving wins FVA dual opener at Oshkosh West

OSHKOSH – The Appleton North girls swimming & diving team opened its Fox Valley Association dual meet season with a 112-67 win over Oshkosh West on Tuesday at Oshkosh West High School.

The Lightning won five races and had numerous runner-up finishes to pull out the victory.

Appleton North started the meet with a win as the 200-yard individual medley relay team of Afton Scoresby, Maddie Loken, Elise Brazzale and Ana Flanagan swam in 1:50.91.

Brazzale won the 100 butterfly (59.41 seconds), Scoresby took first in the 100 freestyle (55.60), the same four teamed to win the 200 freestyle relay in 1:43.83, and Flanagan won the 100 breaststroke in 1:06.70 for the Lightning.

Appleton North will be back in action Friday at the Appleton West Terror Relays and at the Appleton East Invitational on Saturday.
