Appleton North girls cross country has three top-15 finishes at Janesville Craig Invitational

JANESVILLE – The Appleton North girls had another impressive cross country meet with three top-15 finishers at the Janesville Craig Invitational on Saturday at Blackhawk Golf Course.
More than 300 runners took part in the varsity boys and girls races. Team scores were not reported.
Eva Busch led the way for the Appleton North girls, taking fifth in 18:39.2, 54 seconds behind winner Emmerson Drobac of Deerfield/Cambridge (17:45.9).
Sophia Scherwinski finished ninth in 18:48.9 and Ava Helmbrecht took 14th in 18:57.3 for the Lightning.
Grady Lenn of De Pere won the boys race in 16:03.9. North’s top runner was Spencer Gremban, who placed 139th in 17:33.7.
Appleton North will compete at the Pulaski Invitational on Thursday.
