Appleton North girls basketball outlasts Fond du Lac in low-scoring affair

APPLETON – Avery Werfal made 9 of 11 free throws to finish with a game-high 22 points and lead the Appleton North girls basketball team to a 45-34 victory over Fond du Lac in a Fox Valley Association game Friday at North High School.
Amber Ziemer added nine points, and Tay Maass had six points and nine rebounds for the Lightning, who improve to 9-13 overall and 5-12 in the FVA.
Amaria Kejo had 18 points and 15 rebounds for Fond du Lac (7-16, 5-12 FVA).
Appleton North will wrap up its regular-season schedule at home against Appleton East on Thursday.
