Appleton North football shuts out Oshkosh North for fifth-straight win

APPLETON – The Appleton North defense held Oshkosh North to just 83 total yards and five first downs in a dominating performance as the Lightning football team remains undefeated.

Five different players scored touchdowns for Appleton North, which ran for nearly 200 yards and cruised to a 42-0 shutout of Oshkosh North in a Fox Valley Association matchup Friday night at Paul Engen Field at Appleton North High School.

Bobby Salm and Luke Kritzer ran for touchdowns, and Kritzer hit Abraham Tomori for a 21-yard score as the Lightning built a 21-0 halftime lead.

Jack Robinson added a pair of touchdown runs in the third quarter and Tyson Salm ran in from the 2 in the fourth to cap the scoring for Appleton North, which is now 5-0 overall and 3-0 in the FVA this season.

The Lightning finished with 196 yards rushing, including 72 from Tyson Salm and 68 from Robinson. Kritzer added 36 yards rushing and 83 yards passing in the win.

Appleton North plays at Neenah (4-1, 2-1 FVA) next Friday, Sept. 22, at 7 p.m.
