Appleton North boys volleyball takes third place at Middleton Invite

MIDDLETON – The Appleton North boys volleyball team went 4-1 and finished third at the Middleton Invitational on Saturday at Middleton High School.
Appleton North swept Madison West 25-15, 25-10, and Waukesha West 27-25, 25-22, in pool play, and Waukesha Catholic Memorial 25-23, 25-20, in a crossover matchup. The Lightning lost to Sussex Hamilton 25-22, 25-18, in the semifinals before beating Kettle Moraine 25-21, 25-21, to earn third place in the 15-team tournament.
Setter Connor Cantrell was on point for Appleton North, finishing with 121 assists in its five matches.
Nathan Ramus led the North offense with 37 kills, Ben Brinkman added 28 kills, Jaden Ciriacks had 27, Jack Kessling finished with 16 and Grant Hardy had 15 for the Lightning.
North will host Kaukauna in a Fox Valley Association match on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
