Appleton North boys volleyball splits four matches at Brookfield East Tournament

BROOKFIELD – The Appleton North boys volleyball team finished 2-2 and placed seventh out of 24 teams at the Brookfield East Tournament on Saturday.
The Lightning defeated Kenosha Indian Trail 25-17, 25-13, and Waukesha Catholic Memorial 25-14, 25-22 in pool play.
In the Gold Division playoffs, North lost to Germantown 25-21, 25-20, and Middleton 25-22, 25-23.
Nathan Ramus had 31 kills, 23 digs and four service aces, Landon Kue had 40 digs, and Saolai Taho had a team-best 45 assists while adding 11 digs for the Lightning.
Spencer Munson contributed 38 assists and 11 digs, Owen Tierney had 13 kills and Sam Kuahl and Rowan Cilhar both finished with 12 kills as well for Appleton North.
The Lightning will open their Fox Valley Association season at home against Fond du Lac on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
