Appleton North boys volleyball finishes second at 24-team Kettle Moraine Invite

The Appleton North boys volleyball team finished second at the 24-team Kettle Moraine Invitational on Saturday, which was held at Kettle Moraine and Waukesha North high schools.

The tournament was divided into eight brackets of three teams. In pool play, Appleton North defeated Wauwatosa West 25-9, 25-16, and Brookfield East 25-13, 25-19, to advance to the Gold Bracket quarterfinals.

The Lightning beat Kettle Moraine 17-25, 25-17, 15-10, and swept Milwaukee Marquette in the semifinals 25-17, 25-19, to advance to the finals before losing to Hartland Arrowhead 25-19, 24-26, 15-10, to finish as the runner-up in the tournament.

Appleton North statistics were not provided. The Lightning will be back in action Saturday, Sept. 2, at the Brookfield East Invitational.
