Appleton North boys golf opens season at Washington County Invitational

HARTFORD – The Appleton North boys golf team opened its 2025 season with a 49th-place finish at the 56-team Washington County Invitational, which was held Friday and Saturday at Hartford Golf Club and Washington County Golf Course.
Milwaukee Marquette won the team title with a two-day score of 594, eight shots better than Oconomowoc. Appleton North had team scores of 354 and 358 for a total of 712 to place 49th.
Jonathan Huenink had Appleton North’s top finish, tying for 69th place among the 310 competitors. He shot 82 and 79 to finish with a two-day total of 161.
Ryder Miller of Sheboygan North won individual medalist honors with a 73-68-141, two strokes in front of Edgerton’s Caleb Kern.
Coy Priebe and Charlie Olson both finished with a 184, Griffin Schroeder had a 185 and Daniel Garrigan had a 189 to round out Appleton North’s scoring.
The Lightning will start their Fox Valley Association dual meet season at Reid Golf Course against Appleton East on Monday.
