Appleton North boys basketball tops Green Bay Southwest, D.C. Everest at Sun Drop Shootout

GREEN BAY – The Appleton North boys basketball team bumped its season record to a perfect 9-0 with a pair of wins at the Sun Drop Shootout at the Kress Center on the campus of the University of Wisconisn-Green Bay on Tuesday and Wednesday.

The Lightning defeated Green Bay Southwest 79-38 on Tuesday and D.C. Everest 73-57 on Wednesday to remain undefeated.

Appleton North dominated from the start against Green Bay Southwest (0-7), running out to a 48-17 lead by halftime and cruising to the victory.

Will Sweeney had 21 points as he was 4-for-6 from 3-point range, Abraham Tomori scored 15 points, and Sean Hansen added 14 points and five assists in the win for the Lightning. Nathan Ramus had seven assists and Ben Zdzieblowski had eight rebounds in the win.

Four North players scored in double figures in the win over D.C. Everest (3-7) on Wednesday. Tomori scored 15 points, Hansen and Sweeney each had 12, and Ramus chipped in 11 in the victory.

Appleton North returns to action Tuesday for a Fox Valley Association game against Fond du Lac as part of a girls-boys doubleheader. The girls game starts at 6 p.m., with the boys to follow at approximately 7:45 p.m.
