Appleton North boys basketball thumps Hortonville

HORTONVILLE – The Appleton North boys basketball team avenged an early-season loss to Hortonville with a dominating 83-64 victory in Fox Valley Association action Friday night at Hortonville High School.
Abraham Tomori hit four 3-pointers in the first half to scored 14 of his 18 points, and Grant Hardy and Matt Rosplochowski took over in the second half as the Lightning won going away.
Hardy had three of his five 3-pointers and scored 14 of his team-high 20 points in the second half, while Rosplochowski had all 17 of his points after halftime for Appleton North (10-4, 7-3 FVA). Will Sweeney also chipped in 13 points in the victory. North finished with 14 3-pointers in all.
Riley Mueller, Ethan Joling and Owen Sipes each scored 10 points for Hortonville (10-3, 7-3 FVA).
North and Hortonville are now tied for fourth place in the conference, one game behind leaders Neenah, Fond du Lac and Kaukauna, which all won on Friday.
Appleton North will travel across town to take on Appleton West on Tuesday before hosting Oshkosh West on Friday, Jan. 31.
