Appleton North boys basketball drops double-overtime heartbreaker to Oconomowoc

OCONOMOWOC – The Appleton North boys basketball team suffered its third-straight loss, falling in double overtime to Oconomowoc 83-80 in a nonconference game Tuesday night at Oconomowoc High School.
The Lightning battled back from a five-point halftime deficit to tie the game at 69-69 at the end of regulation. After each team put up five points in the first overtime, Oconomowoc outscored North 9-6 in the second extra period to pull out the win.
Will Sweeney scored 21 points, Nathan Ramus added 18 points and seven rebounds, and Abraham Tomori scored 14 for North.
Grant Harty chipped in 13 points and Sean Hansen was a perfect 8-for-8 at the free throw line to finish with 10 points as well for the Lightning.
Appleton North (16-7) will wrap up its regular season with a Fox Valley Association game at home against Neenah on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. The Lightning will host Kimberly in a WIAA Division 1 regional semifinal on Friday, March 1.
