Appleton North baseball tops Oshkosh North

OSHKOSH – The Appleton North baseball team halted a mini two-game losing streak with a 5-3 win over Oshkosh North in a Fox Valley Association matchup Tuesday at E.J. Schneider Field.

Brandon Schopf had three hits and scored three times to pace the Lightning, who improve to 3-2 overall and 3-1 in the Fox Valley Association.

Matthew Hietpas earned the pitching win with six strikeouts in four innings. Despite seven walks, Hietpas allowed just one run. Alex Ramus got the final two outs to earn the save for Appleton North.

Appleton North hosts Hortonville on Thursday.
