Appleton North baseball snags walk-off win over Menomonee Falls

APPLETON – Logan Hudson knocked in a pair of runs to cap a six-run seventh inning as the Appleton North baseball team rallied to defeat Menomonee Falls 8-7 in a nonconference game Saturday at North High School.
The Lightning trailed 5-0 after 5½ innings before scoring twice in the bottom of the sixth.
After Menomonee Falls (2-4) got both runs back in the top of the seventh, Appleton North got to work.
The Lightning sent 10 players to the plate in the inning, which started with back-to-back hit batters.
Logan Gross had a two-run single and scored on an error, and Jackson Skorr had a sacrifice fly to make it 7-6.
With two outs, Teegan Karpinske was hit by a pitch to load the bases for Hudson, who connected on a line drive to left to plate Levi Watts and Thomas Carew with a double for the walk-off win for the Lightning.
Griffin Stan had two of North’s seven hits as the Lightning (5-1) won for the fourth-straight time.
Appleton North will host Oshkosh West in Fox Valley Association action Tuesday at 4:30 p.m.
