Appleton North baseball doubles up Kaukauna, extends win streak to nine

KAUKAUNA – Appleton North scored all its runs in the first four innings to held on to defeat Kaukauna 6-3 in a Fox Valley Association baseball game Thursday at Kaukauna High School.
Ethan Wick struck out four over 4 2/3 innings to earn the win and Ryan Tesch finished up to pick up the save for the Lightning, who move into sole possession of first place in the FVA at 9-1 and improve to 11-2 overall as they won their ninth game in a row.
Bennett Popp went 3-for-4, and Brandon Schopf had two hits and knocked in two runs for Appleton North.
Isaac Maas had two hits and an RBI for Kaukauna (8-6 overall and FVA).
Appleton North travels to Fond du Lac for another FVA game Friday at 4:30 p.m.
