Appleton North, Appleton East open track season at UW-Oshkosh Large Schools Boys Indoor Invitational

OSHKOSH – Appleton North and Appleton East kicked off the spring sports season as they competed at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh Large School Boys Indoor Track & Field Invitational on Tuesday at the Kolf Sports Center.

Stevens Point won the team title with 67 points, with Kimberly and West De Pere tying for second with 51. Appleton North was 11th with 19.5 points and Appleton East 19th with eight points.

Appleton North had two fourth-place finishes as Trey Fox took fourth in the triple jump with a leap of 41 feet, 6¾ inches, and the 1,600-meter relay team of Bobby Salm, Mark Lynch, Lucas Scharenbroch and Langston Moran finished fourth in 3:41.30.

The 800 relay team of Salm, Adrion Rogers, Moran and Scharenbroch placed seventh in 1:36.88, Sam Kuehl tied for seventh in the high jump (5-8) and Riley Szymick took eighth in the 800 in 2:03.59 as well for the Lightning.

Appleton East’s two scoring finishes came from Kyresse White, who was fourth in the 60-meter dash in 7.05 seconds, and the 800 relay team of White, Ethan Kofnetka, Ausitn Jackson and Brett Dietzler, which placed sixth in 1:36.87.
