Appleton North, Appleton East, Appleton West/Kimberly have numerous athletes compete at 2023 WIAA Division 1 State Girls Swimming & Diving Championships

WAUKESHA – Appleton North had two top-10 finishes at the 2023 WIAA Division 1 Girls Swimming & Diving Championships at Waukesha South High School on Saturday.
Appleton East and Appleton West/Kimberly also had swimmers compete at the state meet, with 11 swimming events and a diving competition held on Saturday.
Ana Flanagan placed fourth in the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:04.01 and teamed with Chloe Allen, Afton Scoresby and Allison Greeneway to take eighth in the 200 freestyle relay in 1:38.11 for Appleton North’s top finishes.
The same North relay team placed 11th in the 200 medley relay in 1:47.58. In individual events, Greeneway finished 14th in the 200 individual medley in 2:08.75 and 15th in the 100 butterfly in 58.06, while Flanagan ended up in a tie for 20th place in the 50 freestyle in 24.56.
Appleton West/Kimberly had four swimmers compete in four events.
The Appleton West/Kimberly 200 medley relay team of Elise Pasholk, Gaby Dilley, Alaina Hagany and Colleen DeBruin finished in 22nd place in 1:53.46. Pasholk, a senior, finished 14th in the 200 freestyle in 1:55.70 and 16th in the 500 freestyle in 5:12.76, while De Bruin, a junior, took 24th in the 100 freestyle in 56.51 seconds.
Appleton East junior Ava Strassburg placed 11th in the diving competition, finishing with 387.80 points.
