Appleton East girls basketball loses to The Prairie School at Kettle Moraine Classic

WALES – The Appleton East girls basketball team could not overcome a sluggish start and lost 63-43 to The Prairie School of Racine on Saturday at the Kettle Moraine Thanksgiving Classic.
The Prairie School (3-0) jumped out to a 32-20 lead by halftime and pulled away in the second half, outscoring Appleton East (0-3) by eight.
Ella Sweeney made four 3-pointers and scored 14 points to lead the Patriots.
JJ Barnes made 12 of 15 free throws and ended up with a game-high 25 points for The Prairie School, which held a 16-4 free throw advantage over Appleton East.
Appleton East opens its Fox Valley Association season at Kimberly on Tuesday.
