Appleton East girls basketball has three-game winning streak snapped at Oshkosh North

OSHKOSH – Playing for the fourth time in eight days, the Appleton East girls basketball team ran out of gas, suffering a tough shooting night and dropping a 68-58 decision at Oshkosh North on Friday night in a Fox Valley Association contest.

The Patriots fell behind 35-28 at halftime and couldn’t recover as they saw their three-game winning streak snapped.

Torie Neubauer had 22 points and Ella Sweeney added 17 for Appleton East, which is now 11-6 overall and 7-5 in the FVA.

Awut Alic had a game-high 24 points for Oshkosh North (8-10, 3-9 FVA).

Appleton East will play at Neenah on Tuesday before playing five-straight home games starting Friday, Feb. 2, against FVA-leader Hortonville.
