Appleton East girls basketball blasts Green Bay Preble

GREEN BAY – Ella Sweeney scored 17 points to lead four Appleton East players in double figures as the Patriots rolled past Green Bay Preble 70-28 in a nonconference girls basketball game Tuesday night at Preble High School.

Torie Neubauer added 16 points, Lilly Meulemans chipped in 12 and Jenna Ott scored 11 for Appleton East, which is now 2-0 this season.

The Patriots cruised out to a 37-16 lead by halftime and held Preble to 12 points in the second half to finish off the victory.

Jada Raeder scored nine points to lead Preble (1-1).

Appleton East will play Menomonee Falls at the Kettle Moraine Thanksgiving Classic on Friday at 5:30 p.m.
