APPLETON – The Appleton East football team earned its first victory of the 2023 season with a resounding 51-0 win over crosstown rival Appleton West in a nonconference matchup Friday night at West High School.

East is now 1-1, while West falls to 0-2.

Individual statistics were not provided.

Appleton East will host Neenah for its Fox Valley Association opener on Thursday, Aug. 31, at 7 p.m. at Pickett Field.

Appleton West opens Valley Football Association play on Friday, Sept. 1, at 7 p.m. at home against D.C. Everest.
