Appleton East boys soccer pours it on in second half to win season-opener at Menasha

MENASHA – After a scoreless first half, Appleton East scored five times in the second half and shut out Menasha 5-0 in a nonconference boys soccer matchup to open the 2023 season on Tuesday at Calder Stadium.
Sevie Koss and Alexis Vera each scored twice for the Patriots. Isaac Goerlitz added the other East goal, with James Lagrow, Max Ransom, Royal Swick and Noah Thao dishing out assists in the win.
Henry Benz saved all five shots in goal for the Patriots.
Appleton East will host Xavier for another nonconference game on Thursday at Pickett Field starting at 7 p.m.
