Appleton East boys soccer blanks Hortonville

APPLETON – The Appleton East boys soccer team posted its second-straight Fox Valley Association victory with a 4-0 shutout of Hortonville on Thursday night at Pickett Field.

Alexis Vera had a hat trick and Sevie Koss scored the other goal for the Patriots, who are now 6-3-2 overall and 3-1-1 in the FVA. Hortonville drops to 6-2-2 and 1-2-2 in the conference.

Koss, Vera and Jalen Thao had assists for Appleton East, and goalkeeper Henry Benz saved all five shots he saw in goal. East returns to action Tuesday with an FVA clash at Appleton North beginning at 7 p.m.
