Appleton East boys basketball snags comeback win at Oshkosh West

OSHKOSH – Appleton East scored 50 points in the second half to overcome a seven-point halftime deficit and defeat Oshkosh West 68-66 in a Fox Valley Association boys basketball game Tuesday at Oshkosh West High School.

The Patriots trailed 25-18 at halftime before the second-half explosion propelled them to their sixth-straight win.

Joey LaChapell was 10-for-15 from the field and 11-for-12 at the free throw line to score a game-high 32 points for Appleton East, which improves to 9-13 overall and 5-11 in the FVA.

Grayson Kasmarek made four 3-pointers and added 14 points in the win for the Patriots.

Dylan Taylor had 19 points and Joey Ware 12 for Oshkosh West (6-15, 3-12 FVA).

Appleton East hosts Appleton North as part of a girls-boys doubleheader on Friday. The girls game begins at 6 p.m., with the boys to follow at approximately 7:45 p.m.
