Appleton East boys basketball downs Appleton North, earns seventh-straight win

APPLETON – The Appleton East boys basketball team continued its hot streak and earned a season-sweep of Appleton North with a 61-50 victory in a Fox Valley Association boys basketball game Friday at East High School.

Joey LaChapell made three 3-pointers and scored a game-high 31 points for the Patriots, who won their seventh-straight game and are now 10-13 overall and 6-11 in the FVA.

Grant Hardy had 15 points and Abraham Tomori scored 14 for Appleton North, which has now lost five of its last seven games and falls to 16-6 overall and 11-6 in the FVA.

Appleton East will finish its regular season at Kimberly on Thursday.

Appleton North will play a nonconference game at Oconomowoc on Tuesday before wrapping up its regular season Thursday at home against Neenah.
