Appleton East boys basketball continues hot streak with nonconference win over state-ranked Fox Valley Lutheran

APPLETON – The Appleton East boys basketball team won its third-straight game and second in a row against a state-ranked, crosstown opponent, as it defeated Fox Valley Lutheran 67-61 in a nonconference matchup Thursday at East High School.
Appleton East outscored Fox Valley Lutheran, the sixth-ranked team in this week’s Wissports.net Division 2 state coaches poll, by three points in each half to earn the victory and improve to 6-13 this season. East had defeated Division 1 No. 7 Appleton North on Tuesday.
Joey LaChapell drained five 3-pointers and scored a game-high 29 points for the Patriots. Cade Prestigiacomo added 18 points in the victory.
Adam Loberger had 22 points and Sam Ferge 13 for the Foxes, who drop to 17-2.
Appleton East will continue its stretch of three games in three days with a home game against Appleton West on Friday at 6 p.m. East will travel to Westosha Central on Saturday.
Fox Valley Lutheran will play a North Eastern Conference game Saturday at Little Chute.
