Appleton East baseball rallies in bottom of seventh to top Oshkosh North

APPLETON – The Appleton East baseball team scored twice in the bottom of the seventh inning and earned a walk-off 3-2 win over Oshkosh North in a Fox Valley Association game Monday at East High School.
Oshkosh North led 2-1 after scoring twice in the top of the sixth inning before the Patriots put together a rally in their final at-bat.
Cade Prestigiacomo led off with a single, went to second on a sacrifice bunt by Alex Thompson, and scored on a double by Jackson Bines-Sabrowsky to tie the game at 2-2.
A groundout moved Bines-Sabrowsky to third and he scored on a passed ball to clinch the win for Appleton East (3-8, 2-6 Fox Valley Association).
Matthew Bixler picked up the pitching win, throwing a scoreless seventh for East. Mason Winkler started, finishing with two strikeouts in six innings.
Appleton East hosts Appleton North on Tuesday at 4:30 p.m.
