Appleton East baseball falls to Wausau East, Notre Dame

GREEN BAY – The Appleton East baseball team lost twice at the Notre Dame Triangular at Harold Neville Field on Saturday, falling to Wausau East 5-2 and host Notre Dame 5-1.

Wausau East scored three times in the top of the seventh inning to pull out the win in the Patriots’ first game.

T.J. Parker had two hits and drove in one of East’s two runs in the fifth inning that gave the Patriots a brief 2-1 lead.

Wausau East responded with a run in the top of the sixth to tie it before pulling away in the seventh.

The Patriots were held to three hits in the loss to Notre Dame (18-6), which including an RBI single by Alex Thompson.

Notre Dame blanked Wausau East (13-8) 9-0 in the other game of the triangular.

Appleton East will wrap up its regular season with Fox Valley Association games at home against Kaukauna on Tuesday and Appleton North on Thursday.
