Appleton East, Appleton West boys soccer play to scoreless tie

APPLETON – Appleton East goalkeeper Henry Benz saved all 14 shots he saw as the Patriots and Appleton West played to a 0-0 tie in a Fox Valley Association boys soccer match Tuesday at Pickett Field at Appleton East High School.

Keyson Lehrer was also on top of his game in goal for Appleton West, saving all seven of East’s shots on goal.

Appleton East is now 3-2-4 overall and 0-1-3 in the FVA, while Appleton West moves to 1-3-2 overall and 1-1-2 in conference play.

Both teams are back in action Thursday as Appleton West hots Oshkosh West at the Nienhaus Sports Complex, and Appleton East travels to Hortonville.
