Appleton East, Appleton North land two each on second team of 2024 All-Fox Valley Association Softball Team

Appleton East and Appleton North each had two second-team picks on the 2024 All-Fox Valley Association Softball Team, as voted on by the 10 conference coaches following the season.

Undefeated FVA champion Kaukauna had six first-team selections, including Player of the Year Karly Meredith. The junior pitcher finished the season with a 18-1 record and a 0.35 earned run average. She allowed just 35 hits, 12 walks and six earned runs while striking out 249 in 121 1/3 innings. She also hit .492 with 19 runs scored, six home runs and 21 RBI.

Appleton East senior outfielder Maddie Heisler and junior infielder Torie Neubauer, along with Appleton North sophomore infielder Alyssa Wald and junior utility player Lila Griffth were second-team selections.

Heisler led East in batting with a .370 average and scored 15 runs, while Neubauer hit .314 with 12 runs and nine RBI overall this season.

Wald was North’s top hitter at .387, and added 17 runs scored and 13 RBI. Griffith hit .321 with 11 RBI and 12 runs.

Appleton East’s Ava Smarzinski and Aubrie Erickson, Appleton North’s Raegen Schwarz, Tatum Beggs and Peyton Willenkamp, and Appleton West’s Hattie Moscinski and Ali Raddatz were among the honorable mention choices.
