Appleton Double Days Legion baseball pulls out extra-inning win at Oshkosh

OSHKOSH – T.J. Parker smacked a two-run single in the top of the ninth inning for the only runs of the game, lifting the Appleton Double Days to a 2-0 win over Oshkosh in an American Legion baseball game Wednesday night at E.J. Schneider Field.
Cade Prestigiacomo and Lincoln Thede had back-to-back walks to lead off the ninth for Appleton. After a fielder’s choice, wild pitch and a strikeout, Parker knocked a single up the middle to score two runs.
Jack Schlueter finished off the shutout, earning the win with four innings of two-hit ball. Parker had pitched the first five innings, allowing five hits with three strikeouts.
Appleton (7-2), winners of six in a row, will play at Bay Port on Thursday.
