Appleton East boys soccer cruises past Appleton West

APPLETON – Alexis Vera had a hat trick with two of his goals coming in the first 15 minutes of play to lead the Appleton East boys soccer team to a 6-1 win over Appleton West on Tuesday night at the Nienhaus Sports Complex.
Appleton East is now 5-3-2 overall and 2-1-1 in the FVA, while Appleton West drops to 1-4-2 and 0-2-1 in conference play.
Vera scored in the 11th and 14th minutes, and Jalen Thao added another goal in the 27th as East took a 3-0 lead.
The Terrors scored their only goal a few minutes later on a shot from Echa Itecha, but East was able to pull away with three more goals in the second half coming from Vera, Ntwari and Noah Thao.
Appleton West will be at first-place Oshkosh West (4-0 FVA), and Appleton East will be at home against Hortonville in FVA action Thursday. Both games start at 7 p.m.
